Builder’s Warranty Inspections

Most builders offer a one-year warranty on a new home. I perform a full home inspection before the builder’s warranty expires. Just because your home is new doesn’t necessarily mean it is defect-free. At your 11-month mark, take advantage of your last chance to take advantage of your warranty!

I know it is tempting to skip this inspection, after all, this is a new home and what could possibly be wrong with it? The risk of not having this inspection can cost you a lot of money later. For example, if a pipe fails under your home and you didn’t know it was happening, you might later be dealing with a flooded basement; an issue that could have been prevented.

If something is found in the inspection, the best part, it is likely covered in a warranty. This means you won’t be paying out of pocket for repairs or replacements.
